Millipore Corp. develops and manufactures several thousand products ranging from $2 pipette tips to multimillion-dollar custom-engineered manufacturing systems. Most of the product line is based on microporous membrane, ultrafiltration and chromatographic technologies. Bioscience products include ultrapure water systems and a broad range of devices for preparing samples for analysis. Bioprocess products include housings and filters and chromatographic media and columns for use in manufacturing processes, as well as disposable manufacturing products, and valves, mixers and process monitoring tools.
Water purification systems and membrane-based devices from Millipore can be adapted to the requirements of the clinical laboratory. Water purification systems are specifically designed to produce Type 1 reagent water for feed to clinical analyzers. Membrane-based medical ultrafiltration devices meet regulatory requirements for biological sample preparation and other analyses. In addition, Millipore offers microbiological testing products useful for admixture preparations, as well as water and surface contamination testing.
