Fluidigm Corp. develops and manufactures systems based on proprietary integrated fluidic circuits (IFCs) for high throughput and efficient manipulation of nano-volume fluids. These microfluidic systems can be used to automate certain tasks that are key to drug development and other life sciences research. Fluidigm's Topaz System for protein crystallization enables scientists to invest time and resources only in those protein targets that show a high propensity to yield good structural data. The company's BioMark products address a spectrum of applications related to genetic analysis, including real-time qPCR; genotyping; analysis of protein expression; detection of mutant sequences in a very high background of similar sequences, as required for early cancer detection; and absolute quantitation of nucleic-acid sequences.
