The RFID benchmark report - Finding the technology's tipping point
by Aberdeen Group
Radio frequency identification (RFID) has become a controversial topic among the media, technology and business communities. Some trumpet its capabilities and potential to offer a multidimensional view of status, location, condition and state that goes beyond mere data collection. Others say it is unable to deliver its promised benefits. In this white paper, Aberdeen Group Inc. reveals survey results of 250 industry executives and managers on how their companies view RFID as an enabling technology in its ability to deliver value today and in the future. This report also explores issues that may be blocking wider adoption of RFID, including technology-based applications that are only starting to be developed.
Survey participants made one thing clear: RFID is here to stay. The survey conducted by Aberdeen Group Inc., in conjunction with publishing partners RFID Update and Modern Materials Handling, revealed much of what it will take to motivate broad adoption across enterprises, moving passive adopters to active proponents.
