Adaptive manufacturing: Enabling the lean Six Sigma enterprise

Lean manufacturing principles provide a strong foundation to support many manufacturing methods and a way to reduce costs. However, lean manufacturing by itself is not enough for success—even combined with the principles of Six Sigma. Manufacturers must be adaptable and able to handle exceptions.
