Micronetwork interfaces for RFID tags

by Auto-ID Laboratories

This white paper by Auto-ID Laboratories presents a new, standardized network communication-oriented approach to radio frequency identification (RFID) protocol design. The design views on-tag functionality as separate components connected via a micronetwork and communicated with through a micronetwork gateway. This white paper describes the use of a packetized communication between reader and tag that enables tag manufacturers to implement market-demanded functionality without involvement from standards bodies.
